- You will need some yarn and a crochet hook.
- Yarn over means to take the yarn from the back of the hook, over the hook to the front of the hook.
Step 1: Make your chain.
Step 2: Yarn over.
Step 3: Take the hook through the second chain from the hook.
Step 4: Yarn over.
Step 5: Pull the hook back through the stitch. Now you have 3 loops on the hook.
Step 6: Yarn over.
Step 7: Take the hook through the remaining loops on the hook. Now you have 1 loop on the hook. You have now made a half double crochet!
Step 8: Repeat until you have completed the row. (In step 3, instead of taking the hook through the 2nd ch. Take the hook through the next stitch, as you see in the picture below.)
